Business Solutions to Poverty

In May of 2007 I moved my family to Lima, Peru to manage a start-up venture so I could employ some of my dear friends there who were languishing in poverty. As I worked with them for almost two years I constantly analyzed why they were poor. Culture, government, corruption, class discrimination and education were just a few of the reasons I came up with. Then I'd always ask myself how one solves these daunting problems. How do you change culture and government, end corruption and class discrimination? How do educate a 40 year old man with a wife and five kids who works 15 hours a day, six to seven days a week on things that he should have learned back in the 4th Grade?
I firmly believe that the only way to do this is if millions of these low-income individuals are able to become middle class business owners in their respective countries and then provide jobs for their friends and neighbors. The middle class of the United States of America is one of the most powerful economic, political and educated forces on the planet.
The primary way an individual is able to move from the lower class to the middle class is through business. Worldwide the most powerful vehicle for creating millions of successful, small, family businesses is Microfranchising. Our own Microfranchise, Valet Taxi, is doing just that in Lima, Peru.
Join us now in our effort to take microfranchises to every country on earth and help millions free themselves from the bondage of poverty.
